Known as the City with Heart, North York is a former municipality of Toronto and, until 1998, was the second-largest such municipality in the area. One of the most diverse areas of the city, it includes the central northern section of the city and is home to a culturally and economically diverse population of over 635 000 residents.
The highly multicultural population of the region is made up of many immigrants with up to 57% not born in Canada, and up to 52% classified as visible minorities.
North York contains not only some of the most affluent areas of the city – The Bridle Path, York Mills, Bayview Village, Willowdale, and Hogg’s Hollow – but also some of the poorest – Jane and Finch, Lawrence Heights, and Flemingdon Park. These unique and diverse communities represent a wide cross-section of cultures and communities from around the world.
Largely suburban, increasing urban sprawl from the city core has continued to spread north along Yonge Street, turning the central area of North York into a miniature version of the downtown core with several condominium developments springing up between Finch and Eglinton.
Despite this urban growth, it is not always possible to find the best services and customer care just outside your door, and residents of North York have long been traveling to other parts of the city in order to get the best products, services, and care.
This is often the case for those seeking cosmetic surgery, and our expert staff regularly consults with, and treats, patients from all areas of the city including North York.
